Privacy Policy

How BharatGo collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information across all of its products.

Introduction

BharatGo is a brand owned and operated by Megapod Techworks Private Limited (“BharatGo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect personal information when you use BharatGo Ecommerce, BharatGo Smart POS, BharatGo Creator, our websites, applications, dashboards, stores, payments, and support services (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you acknowledge the collection and use of your personal data as described in this Policy.

1. Data We Collect

  • Account information: name, mobile number, email, password or authentication information, business name, business type, address, tax details, and identity-verification information.
  • Business and transaction data: products, catalogues, orders, invoices, inventory, customers, payment status, payouts, refunds, disputes, delivery details, and store activity.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, events, approximate location, crash reports, and diagnostic logs.
  • Payment and financial data: payment method tokens, bank or payout details, transaction references, and risk signals. Payment credentials may be collected and processed directly by authorised payment partners.
  • Communications: support tickets, calls or chat records where permitted, surveys, feedback, and messages sent through the Services.
  • Information from third parties: payment, banking, delivery, fraud-prevention, analytics, advertising, identity, and integration partners.

2. How We Use Data

  • Create and manage accounts, stores, catalogues, inventory, checkout, billing, digital delivery, payouts, and other requested features.
  • Process payments, subscriptions, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, fraud checks, identity verification, and risk decisions.
  • Provide customer support, service messages, security alerts, product updates, and important policy communications.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, measure, personalise, and improve the Services, including creating aggregated or de-identified insights.
  • Send marketing communications where permitted. You can unsubscribe from marketing messages; service and security messages may still be necessary.
  • Detect abuse, enforce agreements and policies, protect rights and safety, and comply with legal, tax, regulatory, and law-enforcement requests.

3. Data Sharing

We share information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this Policy, with safeguards appropriate to the information and the relationship.

  • Service providers that host, secure, operate, analyse, support, communicate through, or deliver the Services.
  • Payment processors, banks, payout partners, fraud-prevention providers, and financial institutions.
  • Delivery, messaging, analytics, advertising, support, and integration providers selected by you or needed for a requested feature.
  • Sellers and creators: information needed to complete a buyer’s order, provide support, deliver a product, process a refund, or resolve a dispute.
  • Authorities, regulators, advisers, insurers, or other parties where required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the Services.
  • A buyer, seller, or successor in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation, or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality.

4. Creators, Sellers, and Buyer Data

When you use BharatGo to collect personal information from your customers, you are responsible for giving appropriate notices, obtaining required permissions, responding to requests, and using the information only for lawful purposes. BharatGo may process that information on your instructions to provide the Services.

Sellers and creators must not export, sell, disclose, or use buyer data for unrelated purposes, spam, discrimination, or unlawful profiling. They must use reasonable security measures and delete or return buyer data when no longer needed, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.

5. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for reasonable business purposes such as security, fraud prevention, accounting, tax, dispute resolution, backups, and legal compliance. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose. When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymise, or securely isolate it where reasonably practicable.

6. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal information, and may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also object to certain processing or opt out of marketing.

  • Requests should be sent to contact@bharatgo.com from the email or account associated with the request.
  • We may verify your identity, ask for clarification, and deny or limit a request where law permits or requires us to do so.
  • If you use BharatGo on behalf of a business, send customer-data requests to the business that collected the information; BharatGo may assist that business where appropriate.
  • Rights may be exercised under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other applicable data-protection law, as brought into force and applicable to the relevant processing.

7. Cookies and Tracking

BharatGo uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, performance, and, where permitted, marketing. See the Cookie Policy for details and choices.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. No online service is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and devices and for notifying us of suspected compromise.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided information improperly, contact contact@bharatgo.com.

10. International Transfers

Information may be processed in India or other locations where BharatGo or its service providers operate. Where required, we use safeguards appropriate to applicable law and the nature of the transfer.

11. Policy Updates

We may update this Policy when our Services, technology, or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised version and update the date. Continued use after the effective date means you acknowledge the updated Policy.
