Refund Policy

Platform fee policies, creator obligations to buyers, and the dispute resolution process.

Overview

BharatGo is a digital commerce platform. Transactions on BharatGo generally involve two parties: the creator or seller and the buyer. BharatGo facilitates transactions but is not the merchant of record for products and services offered by sellers or creators unless expressly stated otherwise.

This policy explains refunds for BharatGo platform fees and the obligations of sellers and creators to their buyers. It does not remove rights available under applicable consumer-protection law.

1. Platform Fees

  • Transaction fees are non-refundable once a successful transaction has been processed, except where required by law or a refund is expressly approved by BharatGo.
  • BharatGo does not charge a subscription fee for Creator’s free plan. Paid platform plans and add-ons are billed for the selected period and are generally non-refundable after that period begins.
  • Payment gateway, banking, currency conversion, delivery, messaging, and third-party service fees may be charged by the relevant provider and may not be refundable by BharatGo.
  • A refund, reversal, chargeback, or payment failure may result in corresponding adjustment, deduction, or recovery from a seller’s or creator’s balance.
  • Wallet recharges (credit purchases) are generally non-refundable. Wallet balances are used to pay for third-party services, platform fees, transaction fees, and other applicable charges based on usage and pricing terms of the respective service. If your balance is insufficient, affected services may be paused or restricted until you recharge.
  • Unused Wallet balances may be subject to expiry or adjustment as communicated in your account or the applicable service terms.

2. Creator and Seller Refund Obligations

As a seller or creator, you must publish a clear refund, cancellation, return, replacement, and delivery policy appropriate to your offer. Your policy must not be misleading or remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. You are responsible for the promises made in your product listing and communications.

  • A refund may be appropriate where the product is unavailable after purchase, materially different from its description, defective, corrupted, inaccessible, or unusable.
  • For digital products, a refund may be appropriate where the file contains malware, the download or access cannot reasonably be provided, or the product is materially incomplete.
  • You must not refuse a legally required refund by pointing only to a “no refund” statement.
  • You must respond to buyer refund requests promptly and retain evidence of delivery, access, fulfilment, and communications.

3. Buyer Protections

  • Non-delivery: the buyer paid but did not receive the physical product, digital file, course access, or other promised fulfilment.
  • Gross misrepresentation: the product is materially different from the description, format, quantity, or core promise shown at purchase.
  • Fraudulent transaction: the buyer believes the payment or listing was unauthorised, deceptive, or fraudulent.
  • Safety or legality concerns: the product appears unsafe, unlawful, counterfeit, or prohibited.

4. Dispute Process

Step 1: Contact the creator or seller directly using the contact information shown on the store or order. Most issues can be resolved quickly at this stage.

Step 2: Raise a dispute with BharatGo if the seller does not respond, refuses a reasonable remedy, or you believe the seller is acting in bad faith. Include the order ID, purchase date, amount, product, issue, and relevant communication or evidence.

Step 3: BharatGo may review payment, delivery, access, listing, and communication records and may ask both parties for information. We may facilitate a refund, replacement, access restoration, or other resolution where appropriate. BharatGo’s review does not prevent either party from using a legal or statutory remedy.

  • Buyer contacts creator: allow a reasonable opportunity for response.
  • Creator or seller response: generally expected within 5 business days.
  • BharatGo review: may take up to 10 business days after receiving sufficient information, depending on complexity and third-party response.
  • Refund processing, where approved: generally 5–10 business days after resolution, subject to the payment provider and bank.

5. Chargebacks

A chargeback occurs when a buyer disputes a charge directly with a bank or card issuer. As the seller or creator, you must provide reasonable evidence of authorisation, delivery, access, fulfilment, and communications when requested. BharatGo may hold or deduct funds while a chargeback is reviewed and may recover the amount if the dispute is decided against the seller or creator.

Do not ask a buyer to withdraw a valid chargeback or file a false chargeback. Attempting to create or avoid a refund through deception may result in account suspension and recovery of related costs.

6. Platform Plan Cancellation

You may cancel future renewal of a paid BharatGo plan or add-on through the relevant account controls or by contacting support. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless the checkout terms say otherwise. Fees for a period that has started are not refundable except where required by law or expressly approved.

7. Hardware and Devices

Some plans may include or offer hardware, devices, or tools such as printers as part of a Smart POS package, or these may be sold separately. Any such hardware or device is provided subject to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty (if any) and the manufacturer’s or third-party supplier’s policies. BharatGo is not the manufacturer and cannot be held liable for hardware defects, performance, availability, or warranty fulfilment. Where possible, BharatGo may help facilitate communication between you and the manufacturer or supplier, but does not guarantee any outcome. Hardware or device issues should be directed to the manufacturer or supplier using the warranty or support channels provided with the product.
